Description
In the context of global transitions mainly driven by climate change, digitalization and automation the TRIS model for economic development (Ayadi & Sessa 2020) is anchored in the following guiding principles:
- Transparency aimed to build trust based on greater accountability
- Responsibility aimed to manage the possible intended and unintended consequences of our actions in the future and reflect on their ethical acceptability
- Inclusiveness aimed to take into account what is societally desirable for the current generations
- Sustainability aimed to take into account what is left for future generations.
The TRIS Dashboard is an interactive open access knowledge platform that monitors key dimensions and relevant indicators of the four principles of the TRIS model.
The TRIS Dashboard was pre-launched at COP27 (Sharm el Sheikh). Professor Rym Ayadi presented the TRIS model and dashboard in an event on the importance of research and innovation in the fight against climate change in the Mediterranean.

She is also Associated Scholar at the Centre for Relationship Banking and Economics (CERBE) at LUMSA University in Rome.
Senior Research Advisor at the Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI) in Piran, Slovenia.
Salvador Simon Algado
Co-Director of the Mental Health Chair at UVic-UC, SpainSalvador Simó Algado PhD, MsC, MBA, is an international consultant in themes related to mental health, social participation, entrepreneurship and inclusive economic development. Lecturer, researcher, Adjunct Director of the Mental Health Chair, and Coordinator of the Mental Health and Social Innovation Research group at UVIC-UCC. Lecturer of Entrepreneurship at the European Business School. He has been visiting lecturer at more than 24 international universities (in Canada, Sweden, France, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Portugal, The Netherlands, Ireland, England, Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Latvia, Turkey, Chile, Argentina, Costa Rica, and Guatemala). He is a member of the Euromeditrranean Economist Association EMEA expert panel.
He was responsible for mental health and social entrepreneurship projects working with refugee communities in Bosnia, Guatemala, and Kosovo with NGO’s as Medecins sans Frontiers. His primary experience is designing and implementing European projects, integrating health, social participation, and economic development. He has been the national IP for 4 Erasmus +, 1 H2020, 1 AMIF, and 3 EU Intensive Programs and he has been recognized as a European expert by Cost Action. At a national level he has co-leaded almost 50 projects.
Salvador Simó holds a Ph.D. in Inclusive Education (UVic-UCC); a Master’s in Business Administration (ENAC BS); Postgraduates in Social Entrepreneurship (IESE Business School), Writing and design projects (Hogeschool Van Amsterdam) and Narrative Research (Karolinska Instituted). He also holds a bachelor’s in occupational therapy and in Translation Studies. He has directed 2 Ph. D. thesis, and 6 Ph. D. theses more in process. Author of 12 books, 24 chapters of book, and around 60 articles. Member of the international Think-tanks, Social transformation through occupation; WFOT Sustainability group.
Enrique de Villamore
Director, Medwaves (the UNEP/MAP Regional Activity Center for SCP)Enrique de Villamore Martín works for MedWaves since 2002. He worked as project manager until 2010 when he was appointed as Director of the Center. MedWaves is an institution, hosted by the Catalan waste Agency, that was established as center to support the countries members of two international treaties, namely, the Convention of Barcelona for the protection of the environment of the Mediterranean region and the Convention of Stockholm on the fight against Persistent Organics Pollutants. The Center hosts the official mandate of promoting the shift to sustainable patterns of consumption and production. In the performance of its mandate, Medwaves has become a reference for international cooperation in the support to administrations and entrepreneurs in the transition to circular economies and the prevention of toxic chemicals.
Enrique has a Law degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, a Master in Environmental Law from the Basque Country University and two university graduates on Environmental Management, from the CEU Abad Oliva University and the Government of Catalonia .
Carlo Sessa
EMEA, SpainCarlo SESSA is Research Director and former President of ISIS – Institute of Studies for the Integration of Systems of Rome. Before joining ISIS in 1983, he has conducted research at NYU, where he worked with Nobel Prize winner Wassily Leontieff. He was the Coordinator of several EU research projects, in the 5th, 6th and 7th Framework Programmes, in the fields of transport, urban issues and environment. In this context, he organised several participatory foresight exercises, involving panels of experts and citizens.
